Motor Insurance for young drivers - a must
Young drivers are a high-risk category for motor insurance companies. This is a group that presents more liabilities owing to rash driving and accidents that are eventually transformed into claims. The riskiest sub-group in this category being male teenagers.
|
Some of the points why they present higher risks in the form of higher claims frequency and more expensive claims are as follows - |
| - | Mostly the kind of cars young drivers drive is older owing to budget constraints, hence not well-maintained either. This is a factor that contributes to higher accident frequency. |
| - | Overuse and overloading is another concern for motor insurance companies. A fully loaded or overloaded car is less stable than a less loaded one, thus increasing the risks to life in case of an accident. |
| - | If the car during an accident is fully loaded the impact is higher corresponding to the number of people travelling at that time. |
| - | Vandalism is another worry for motor insurance companies. Young drivers are generally the type to frequent night clubs and can present a greater danger of vandalism than a regular commuter driving back home. |
